Are you ready to have some fun and help raise money for a good cause? If so, we are looking for your support at the third 'Hockey Fights Cancer' hockey tournament!  Volunteers will be needed, to find out in what capacity please contact Catherine Tremblay, tournament organizer at Catherine@ottawahomesales.com.

The tournament is open to all adults aged 19 and above, both male and female. Join as a team or join individually and we will place you on a team. Teams will be placed in divisions.  The mens divisions will be divided in 2 catagories Men's Under 30 and Men's Over 30.  There will only be a Rec division for women this year.  All female players must be house league level.  Remember this is for fun so please be honest on your application form as I will bump you up a level if your team is too strong.

A very special thanks to all the companies who helped last year by contributing to the amazing weekend.  Special thanks to Greg Bergeron from Allstate Insurance located at 2950 Bank Street in the Blossom Park Plaza for donating all the player of the game award bags along with Tim Horton Gift Cards and a few other nice things inside, The Nike Store for a gift Card and a water bottle, Maaco Collision on Cyrvile for donating some gift cards, Emco, Franklyn Empire, MVP Lounge, Hockey Life.  Capital Office donated a nice chair to the Auction and Jestek Electric also donated some awesome items to the Auction.  A BBQ from an annonymous donor.  This tournament could not happen for all those in the community who help.  I also want to say thank you to Simply Sparkling who donated 3 trophies for the MVP of the playoffs.

Dick Cordick

2011 TOURNAMENT IS IN MEMORY OF DICK CORDICK

Dick passed away this past January after a lengthy fight with cancer. After retiring from the Air Force he worked at his favorite hobby, hockey, for 25 years. For a short time working with Hockey Ontario, the ODHA and then he enjoyed many years with the Canadian Adult Recreational Hockey Association. During his hockey years he was a member of the CAHA Rules Committee and an active member in the forming of the National Referee Certification Program. Dick was proud of his induction to the CJHL, and CARHA Halls of Fame as a Builder. He enjoyed many fond memories of coaching minor hockey and refereeing at all levels. Most of all Dick loved watching his son Tim who wore #5 thoughout his hockey career. Dick and Marion travelled many miles to watch him play. Sadly Tim passed away, succumbing to brain cancer in September 2007 at 42 years of age.

Dick will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Thanks for the great weekend, the event was really well organized and the facility was great. Although our team didn’t do the best, we had lots of fun on the ice and having the event supporting cancer research made it all that much more enjoyable. We’ll see you again next year!

I will definitely be putting a team back into the tournament next year. My team felt the tournament was well run with great teams and a great atmosphere all weekend. We enjoyed the great food and beverages and conversations after the games and at the sponsored restaurant. We salute you and the rest of the organizers for putting on a great tournament for a great cause!

"I would like to thank the tournament hosts for such a great weekend. The hockey was exciting, and well balanced. The MVP prizes and auctions were a great addition to the tournament. I was happy to contribute to such a great cause, and I will continue to attend the Hockey Fights Cancer tournament year after year. If you need volunteers I am more then willing to help out in anyway I can."

Our team wanted to thank you for the wonderful Hockey Fights Cancer tournament. All of our players, family and friends had a terrific time. We were especially pleased how organized and helpful you and your staff were in all aspects of this terrific event. The games ran smoothly and on-time, the officiating was exceptional and the gift bags and silent auction was a nice touch. We also had loads of fun at St. Louis Bar and Grill. The food and entertainment was fantastic!!! We will definitely be back next year. Thanks again.

Hockey Fights Cancer 2009 was a great accomplishment.  The hockey games were very exciting and the incredible volunteers were very committed thoughout the weekend.  The sponsors were an important part of the funds that were raised.  We are very proud of Catherine, Jeff, Nick and Taylor.  Allan and I spent the weekend at the tournament and met some fabulous people who took time out of their busy schedules to help Catherine run the tournament.  We look forward to 2010 for the tournament to grow.                              Allan and Mary Kate Duff (Mom and Dad)
